Terra is an example of an organic farm with systematic operation and stable availability. The Natur Boutique team visited the Terra greenhouses and saw cucumbers and tomatoes being grown almost all year round.
Greenhouses are located in the Kharkiv region in the city of Pervomaisky.
It all started with the fact that the founders of the plant "Terra" (engaged in the production of instant porridge) wanted to grow pure products for themselves.
They began to study this topic and decided to try to produce not only for themselves but also for people.
So, in 2016 the greenhouses were put into operation and today "Terra" specializes in cucumbers and tomatoes.

NATUR BOUTIQUE: HOW DO YOU GROW?
ALEXANDER KOSTIN: At first, no agronomist wanted to do it. They said that we would not succeed, that it was impossible to grow without chemicals. As a result, he studied in the process of growing.
In the first year, everything grew well, and then the disease began. Especially in September-October. At this time, conventional farms apply insecticides twice a week. But in organic production, chemistry is prohibited, so we tested all biological products approved by Organic Standard and found the right ones.

NATUR BOUTIQUE: What seeds do you take?
ALEXANDER COSTIN: We take organic Dutch tomato seeds and fungicide-treated cucumber seeds of Russian selection. After several years of experiments, we came to the conclusion that the Athlete cucumber variety is the only one that is suitable for our strip, withstands the lack of light and can bear fruit in February.

NATUR BOUTIQUE: WHAT METHODS DO YOU USE IN CULTIVATION?
ALEXANDER KOSTIN: As you can see, we have mulch everywhere. It inhibits weed growth, retains moisture and feeds the soil.
Water with drip irrigation with rainwater and filtered.

We heat with a wood boiler, using bran and husks left over from the processing of grain at the Terra plant.
Bees and earth bumblebees live in greenhouses.

In warm weather we open greenhouses.
Fertilize with em-drugs ("Emochki" - effective microorganisms). We do not make humus, we already have fertile soil. Laboratory studies have shown that in 3 years, effective microorganisms have increased soil fertility to such a high level that it can be sold.

NATUR BOUTIQUE: WHEN ARE YOUR PRODUCTS AVAILABLE?
ALEXANDER KOSTIN: We do not have conveyor production, as in hydroponics. Cucumbers will be until June and will reappear in September. In November, we will harvest the last crop of tomatoes and cucumbers, then a two-month break. The first cucumbers go on sale in February, tomatoes - in March.

NATUR BOUTIQUE: PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT THE FEATURES OF THE PRODUCT.
ALEXANDER COSTIN: We have cases when people can't eat ordinary cucumbers because of allergies, and ours can. Our cucumbers and tomatoes have a completely different taste and are loved for it.

After visiting the greenhouses, one of the co-founders - Sergei Burnaev, invited us to see the hazelnut garden.
The garden was laid 40 years ago. Sergei bought it in disrepair and began to restore.

Serhiy shared: “Here I relax and rest. I want to restore the garden and plan to make a closed ecosystem in a few years. The bushes have already proven their adaptability to the local climate, and the hazelnuts turn out delicious.
Sow grass. Under each bush there will be mulch with truffle mycorrhiza. I don't hope for truffles, but mushrooms should help maintain moisture. "
