The Organic Tour on September 12 includes huge Angus cows, merino sheep and Boer goats, as well as a greenhouse with tomatoes, bright pumpkins and a rest at the Maison Blanche manor.

Registration took place here. Participants talked and got acquainted with the range of the store.

Natur Boutique is the first store of organic and healthy products in Ukraine (since 2008). Here are organic foods (including vegetarian, gluten-free and diabetic), health products, organic cosmetics, eco-friendly products for the home, as well as useful books. All three locations in the tour belong to the Taras Shevchenko private enterprise. Along the way, guide Anastasia Le Hack talked about organic products, the difference between the concepts of "organic", "eco", "bio", "environmentally friendly" and "farmer" , as well as how to cleanse the body of pesticides with phytopreparations based on ginkgo, ginger and turmeric.

Taras Shevchenko Private Enterprise (hereinafter referred to as “Trostinka”) is a part of Osnova Holding.

The Cane project is 5 years old. The company has a total of 2,700 hectares, which are gradually being converted to organic farming and animal husbandry.

Today, 1,000 hectares are organic, and 1,600 hectares are in transition.

Excursions were conducted by the general director Vladimir Metelsky, the director of the livestock department Taras Mazur, the project manager Artem Chub, the garden manager Anatoly Zelenenky.

POINT 2: ORGANIC APPLE GARDEN “TROSTINKA”, Derevyanki village, Kyiv region.
A total of 27 hectares of apple orchard, a field with honeysuckle and beehives.

Apple trees of European winter varieties resistant to scab, sweet and large - Renora, Record, Red Topaz, Sirius and Luna.

Apple trees have been cared for here for 6 years, the first harvest was obtained in the 4th year. Unfortunately, there is no harvest this year due to the snowless winter and severe frosts.

The main problem is strong winds, so this year they plan to plant linden and paulownia trees with fast-growing trees to protect against the wind and collect honey during the season.

"Look at how the grass has grown," says Anatoly Zelenenky, the garden's manager, "we don't use herbicides because it's forbidden by organic standards." What do we use? We just mow. ”

Instead of insecticides - use biological products, as well as traps in the form of a blue bucket with syrup and burnt oil on the bottom. Insects are attracted to sugar, but stickiness does not allow them to crawl outside the bucket.

From aphids use nettle infusion.

The main difference between organic apples is that they are not treated with chemical pesticides, while ordinary ones are treated up to 20 times a season.

Apples are in the TOP 10 most pesticide-contaminated products (EWG rating). Therefore, it makes sense to choose organic. So you get the most benefit and can safely give to children.

POINT 3: Farm and greenhouses "Trostinka", s.Trostinka, Kiev region.
The main direction of "Cane" - animal husbandry (cows, goats, sheep).

Cows of British breeds Angus (Aberdeen Angut) and Hereford. These breeds are the leaders of the meat industry all over the world.

Interestingly, they are not afraid of frost, but do not tolerate heat.

The zootechnician gained experience on leading farms in Europe and Canada. All species of animals are imported from breeding farms in Austria and Germany.

“We have Boer goats, and sheep are merinos (Merinoladshaf). The meat of these breeds differs in that there is no specific smell. "

Animals are kept on free range and fed organic feed of their own production without premixes (growth stimulants, antibiotics, etc.). 90% of food - their feed, from purchased supplements - minerals, salt, chalk.

Status - a transition period to organic animal husbandry. As Vladimir said: “We are gradually moving to organic, as it is reflected in the cost, and in Ukraine people are not ready to pay for organic meat. For example, 1 ton of ordinary soybeans is UAH 10-11,000, organic soybeans cost UAH 19,000. And the cost of a bull is 60% of its food. ”

“These are our breeding bulls. Many farms buy sperm for fertilization, but we have chosen the natural way. We have a small farm and we are gradually increasing the number of livestock. "

“When we were on a farm in Canada, we tried the chic marble meat. But then they learned that the feed contains 14 premixes. This does not suit us. "

“Thanks to special premixes, you can increase your weight gain by 20 percent for 40 hryvnias a month. It's tempting, but it's not our way. "

According to reviews - the meat from "Cane" is incomparable. And lamb and goat without a specific smell.

Greenhouses and vegetable garden "Cane" is more of a hobby project, where technologies are practiced.

The seeds used are organic from Enza Zaden.

Fertilize with vermicompost of own preparation. Biopreparations are used as protection.

To increase yields, bumblebees are used, they pollinate tomatoes.

Completely do not destroy pests, and reduce to a certain amount.

During the construction of greenhouses, environmentally friendly materials were used - metal, stone, wood.

Energy-saving automated systems of heating, lighting, watering and control of a microclimate are applied.

Maintenance of greenhouses and organic technology costs 120,000 UAH per month, and therefore organic cherry tomatoes can not be cheap.

As part of the tour, those interested bought meat, pumpkin and cherry tomatoes.

Bonus point - we looked at the test chicken coop and the organic millet crop.

After cleaning, the millet will go to Germany for baby food.

The chicken coop is small and clean. While testing with breeds and maintenance technologies. If all goes well, they will expand.

"We bought 100 Gallic roosters - beautiful, white, with a red tuft and purple paws, 5 of them survived, still running." Therefore, in organic animal husbandry, a breed suitable for the climate is of key importance.

POINT 4: Vermiferma, Ksaverovka village, Kyiv region.
Compost is produced here for Trostinka fields and greenhouses. Humus (aged manure) is brought here and worms of the Diggers are settled. They turn it over several times and after 9 months the compost is ready.

In organic farming it is forbidden to use mineral fertilizers (nitrate, nitrates), instead use compost, ready biofertilizers, greens. "Cane" is an example of how the farm uses its own compost.

POINT 5: ECO-MANOR MESON BLANCH CUSTOMS, Kiev region, Vasilkovsky district, s. Customs
Lunch was served at the restaurant of the Maison Blanche Customs eco-farm.

On the menu: green borscht, mackerel fishcake, salad, compote of organic berries, water with herbs, vegan jelly, pastries made of organic flour, organic wine and cheese.

After dinner there was free time to see the hotel, farm, garden, spa, make yourself a cocktail on a smoothie, as well as for shopping in the store.

The eco-farm is certified by the international green program Green Key. The rooms of the eco-hotel are decorated with natural materials and provided with natural cosmetics, cleaned only with organic, environmentally friendly means.
